Volunteers Needed:

As we plan the services, we are in need of a few volunteers to help with set up before and take down after the services. I would also like to enlist the help of his teammates and friends in various non-speaking parts of the service (like helping with the registry, helping with the black cloth swatches, etc.) If you are available, you can respond to this post with a comment or call me directly.

  4. I would like to help if there is anything that I can do. Ntanga was a 6th grade student of mine, and I know that all of us at Jouett want to be as helpful and supportive as possible during this difficult time. Please email me with anything that I can do. rjones@k12albemarle.org

  5. I would like to help with set up. I work at Jouett and will be there.
Ntanga was just the sweetest boy, and unbelievably talented. He played soccer with my children, and we were always amazed by his talent and by his kindness. He could have scored every goal himself, but he would always help set up his teamates for goals. I will miss seeing his beautiful smile everyday at school, not to mention his hugs!

  7. Marty or MaryAnn,

Do you have contact info that you can post (email or phone) so folks can get in touch with you other than by posting a comment?

  9. Mary Anne and Marty, I don't know your relationship with the family, but I had to write to say that I've never seen a more caring, detailed, mindful set of postings... I don't know you or the family or have current ties to Charlottesville, but I certainly feel engaged in what is a terrible loss to a family and to the community. Your loving care, along with others who are helping the family, will bring comfort to everyone associated with Ntanga.

  10. Ilo Zak - one of Ntanga's U14 Express team mates and his father will be at Jack Jouett at 5:15. He will be wearing his current uniform and wishes to do anything to help with the memorial. Our email is satozak@hotmail.com.

We are contributing to the dinner through Mia and the rest of the family will be there at 6:00 PM.

Thank you so much for all that you are doing in bringing us together to honor this beautiful boy and his family.

  13. Ntanga was a great friend of me and Meg. It would be great if we could help with the swatches or registration or the setup! Anything really. Before or after is fine. Meg can only do it after.

  17. We are sending the Musies love and prayers today, as we think of them and N'Tanga. The memorial service was a beautiful celebration of N'tanga and his family's love of life, and their light that touches so many others. Thanks to all in our community who came together to share their love, compassion and support.
